Film Industry is a place or a organisation where the cinematic shoots are done and video quality required always defers.
DOP( Director of Photography) is a person who is well known to cameras and lenses and all other factors in the shot, coming to the point the drones which are used in cinematic shots or film industry depends on the camera and video quality the shot needs to be taken in, other factors such as location are also accountable.
Well these are various drones used in this industry mainly there are 2 types :
Product drone such as DJI,TYCOON,etc or customised aerial rigs.
1.) Product drones: These are drone which come with all fixed specification mostly these types of drones have their own fixed camera with gimbal similar to p3 or p4 only now that the inspire has a changeable lens which is costly.
Coming to the next point these are usually compact and can be taken almost everywhere usually are kept in backpacks of normal size, the technology is integrated and all works on application which can be installed on native devices such as Ios or Android.
Most of them which are latest and used in the industry are 4k and 4k raw camera equipped drones.
These drones can fly almost anywhere within the air speed limit as mentioned on their specs so mostly preffered to fly in normal conditions.
These drones cannot be used much due to the stability and camera settings provided are limited to the product specifications we cannot modify them to a large extent as compared to the custom developed drones.
2.) Custom Developed Drones : These drones are specifically made for huge payloads and can carry almost any camera that you need to lift off.
Custom drones are not that portable as compared to the products well they are carried in a pelican case.
In small places such as inside offices or malls or in jungles these drones are less preffered.
well these Drones offer less flight time at times then the products due to huge equipment and climatic conditions(windy).
Custom Drones usually need a long checklist to be taken care of before takeoff due to the big amount invested on them.
As these can carry almost any camera it needs a gimbal offcourse well these cameras can carry any lense within the payload limit and thus a wide spectrum to settings can be obtained which incase of products is not possible.
So in all there are pros and cons for both the systems and the use of them differ from location to location and shot to shot.
